A “Purple Neck” blends the grit and self-reliance often associated with “redneck” culture with the cultural heritage, traditions, and identity of non-white communities.
While many Purple Necks are Black, they can also be Latino, Asian, Native American, Middle Eastern, Malaysian, or from any other ethnic background. The “purple” symbolizes the mix of rural traditions with diverse cultural roots, celebrating that country living is for everyone.
